This introductory Project Management course focuses on the essential skills and methods employed by project leaders to complete projects on time and to achieve the business goal of the project. Effective project management is a core skill set for business improvement efforts. Providing organizations with a common, hands-on, practical approach to project management methods improves an organization’s ability to execute on their annual operating plans and strategic plans through a set of initiatives and projects aligned to these strategic or annual objectives. At completion of this course the participants will be well versed in the concepts, methods and vernacular of the essential basics of good project management.
Prerequisite Skills and Technical Expectations:
One to three years of business experience and work experience as a Project Leader and/or Program Manager. Course participants should be regularly or at least occasionally engaged in leading projects in their area of the business that require the alignment and leadership of small teams. Course participants should also either have work experience managing sets of projects (program management experience) or have a reasonable expectation of this opportunity in their future assignments. The content of this two-day course is at the undergraduate level, and students are expected to be capable of academic coursework at that level.
