SBTI Master Black Belt Certification
SBTI leads the industry with our Master Black Belt CORE Program. It stands to reason that the SBTI Master Black Belt Certification process is not your average program. SBTI-trained Master Black Belts lead the industry in returning the greatest results to their companies. The SBTI Master Black Belt certification is proof of that capability.
The SBTI Master Black Belt Certification process requires the candidate:
- Completes the SBTI Master Black Belt CORE program,
- Completes at least two (2) SBTI Electives,
- The Candidate must provide the following documentation:
- The candidate’s latest PDP (Personnel Development Plan),
- List of the Champion, Black Belt and Green Belt trained personally by the candidate,
- List of the projects completed by the candidate,
- One or two project reports or summaries including financial results. (Note: If confidentiality is a concern, let SBTI know and we’ll discuss how we can accommodate this), and
- List of the people mentored by the candidate.
- Have executed all elements of their PDP.
Once SBTI has reviewed the candidate’s documentation, SBTI will contact the candidate and begin the interview process. The purpose of the interview is to confirm that the candidate has delivered on his or her PDP. It is customary to do the interviews over the phone.
The candidate and the SBTI MBB Program Manager will spend 30 to 45 minutes on the phone. Please schedule this interview last.
SBTI will then want to talk (approx. 15-20 minutes) to:
- Two or three (2-3) managers who can confirm the candidate’s impact on his/her company,
- Two or three (2-3) Black Belts or Green Belts trained by the candidate, and
- Two or three (2-3) Black Belts or Green Belts mentored on projects by the candidate.
The SBTI Master Black Belt Program Manager will block out the days and the candidate will create a spread sheet showing the name, title, time of the scheduled interview, relationship to you, location and phone number.
After the interviews the SBTI Master Black Belt Program Manager will follow up with a written report. Upon successful certification the candidate will receive a letter and an SBTI Master Black Belt plaque.

The cost for the SBTI Master Black Belt Certification process is $3,500.00 USD. Invoicing information will need to be provided by the candidate.
